The names of Japanese players are archaic

The list of Japanese first names adopted by OOTP includes many archaic names. These names are seldom given to modern children. They only appear in school history classes. When I see those names in OOTP, I feel like a Samurai or a World War II general come back to life and play baseball today. LOL!

I am not saying that developers should revamp the name list. The Japanese are probably less than 1% of the consumers. I intend to complete a more modern first name list of Japanese men in the alphabet over a medium to long term period.

So my question is, how many different first names do I need for my list to be adopted by developers? That is to say.

While I'm not familiar with Japanese names enough to know if these are any better, there is a fantastic names mod that ups the variety of names and handles nuance much better.

Just out of curiosity, what are examples of names that are archaic and which would you add as more modern?

Leaving aside the antiquity of the name, there are several words that are not even human names.

-Aguri is the name of a racehorse.
-ChuichiDaisetsu is two names joined without spaces. Japanese do not have names that are capitalized except at the beginning, such as deGrom.
-Fomio is either a typo or an OCR misidentification of Fumio. A Google search makes the name appear to be real. However, "fo" does not exist in common Japanese names. Fumio is a typical name, for example, the current prime minister.
-Fujii, Yamada etc. are typical family names, but not first names.
-Muneyaki seems to be the name of a sword making process. I don't know much about it.

For what it's worth, there appear to be wikipedia pages for notable individuals with the first names Aguri, Fujii, and Muneyaki. There are plenty of typos and errors scattered across the names files though and have been for a long time.

The best place to put something like this is the suggestions forum. When the devs start working on new/improved features, they go to that forum. they arent going to comb through thousands of threads in the general forum

Thanks for pointing Aguri out.
Three of the four Aguri listed in the Wikipedia article are women, and two of the three are pseudonyms. But Aguri Suzuki is the name of a real man. His name was created by combining the names of two comic book characters.

I could not find any article on Wikipedia about someone with Fujii and Muneyaki as first names.
Who are you referring to?

One of the terrible things when we lost the real players from the best baseball country in the world.
OOTP better work hard to get it back. It tends now to be as with Football Manager with so many good players "hidden" from this game.

Player from today onwards makes one scratch all established International Free Agents to pop up and only get those young Latins lads,
The veterans just pops up without any history as hidden in a cave all the years before entering US. The Cuban defectors might be the only ones I use as vets from outside.
