Career SLG 4.000? Sure, it's possible. OOTP just proved it.
Looking through my retired players list, I clicked on sort by SLG. Why, I don't know, because you can have some very high career slugging percentages left behind by coffee cup players.
But a final career SLG of 4.000? Sure, it's possible. What is required is that the player have only one career plate appearance and that he hit a home run in it. Nothing else whatsoever. So it did happen in my league. I will treasure this fellow forever. My imagined backstory: He was a big mouth; came up and hit his home run, took too much time going around the bases; cavorted and capered too much; one of his teammates took him to task; the two battled in the dugout; the manager got between them and took a fist to the jaw for his efforts; the team owner witnessed all this; and Jon Boyce was released the very next day, never to be heard from again.

It appears there has never been an MLB player with a career 4.000 SLG, but there are 6 with a career 3.000 SLG. It looks like mostly pitchers with a couple deadball era guys.

I mean, it does make sense. A home run is 4 total bases. So if your only career AB is a homer, 4 total bases / 1 AB = 4.000
You would think you'd get that a 2nd at bat though at some point haha. Even if he's just an injury fill in on a AAA call-up, still if his only AB is a dinger you'd try to get him another AB at some point lol. |

Maybe if Moonlight Graham got to bat just once (other than in “Field of Dreams”). It was the last game of the season. If the Giants tied it, and the game went extra innings, he could have clubbed that HR, and then the season would be over, and he could go on to become a doctor.
