LIVE Update: Silver to Gold

I see a lot of people not sure about playing the live update market - it's a great way to make extra coin if you do it right.

I noticed there is less activity around silvers than in the past - the prices on many of the silvers that are about to turn gold are still around 150-200; you should go pick up ten of these guys right now if you haven't already (see if you can fill buy orders or pick up whatever is available for under 500 or so). I'll provide my reasoning for the first few so you can see where I'm coming from.

Josh Naylor 79 OVR - L10 average is 157pp
Up 70 pts on his OPS, pretty much a guarantee to go gold.

Zach Eflin 79 OVR - L10 average is 332pp
FIP is down .21 and H/9 is down since last update

Kenley Jensen 78 OVR - L10 average is 173pp
FIP down from 3.52 to 3.02, zero walks since last update

Jack Suwinski 78 OVR - L10 average is 139pp
Up 45 pts on his OPS to .889, he's a lock to go gold imo

I would also consider these to be very good bets:
Adolis Garcia 78 OVR - L10 average is 219pp
Austin Hays 79 OVR - L10 average is 208pp
Christian Yelich 76 OVR - L10 average is 198pp
Lane Thomas 76 OVER - L10 average 238pp
Ha-Seong Kim 79 OVR - L10 average is 234pp

A couple of outside shots going for just over 100pp, these are worth grabbing 10 each of, imo - they are definitely going up, whether to gold or not, we'll see:

Leody Tavaras 75 OVR - L10 average is 115pp
Ezequiel Duran 73 OVR - L10 average is 119pp

There are, of course, many others (I have about 40 cards / 400 silvers I'm speculating on short and long-term) but for anyone seeing this now, there's a quick (since the next update is Monday, July 10th) 30-50K profit sitting here for sure.

Since there's only a few days until the update, here's also quick list of some guys I'm holding at the higher levels that have a good shot to go up, imo:

Diamond to Perfect:

Juan Soto
Fernando Tatis
Andres Munoz
Corey Seager
Luis Robert
Sean Murphy
Luis Arraez
Mookie Betts

Gold to Diamond (cheap with a good shot):

Brandon Nimmo
Chris Martin
Jake Fraley

Good list. I'm holding a lot of those Silvers now that live missions aren't interfering with them so much.

A couple of Orioles to add:

Austin Hays is sitting on 79. His June numbers were about as good as his overalls, but that's 30 more days of destroying his ZiPS projection (.855 OPS vs. .741 projection). L10 is 194.

Felix Bautista is at 88. He struck out 22 batters in 11 innings and had a FIP of 0.67 in June. Bad news is that everyone is on this train now.

edit: Oops. Completely missed Hays on your list.

I left out Batista (and Ketel Marte, at the time, who is definitely worth getting now at only 1400pp L10) because they were both still around 2000PP L10.

Honestly, Batista is the kind of gold that has an outside shot at going perfect with his 1.6 FIP, so still worth picking up 10 even at 2000-2500 IMO. Last year there were 4-5 guys that went from gold to perfect.

Which diamonds are you holding onto this time? It's wild, because there's about 10 guys with legit potential to go to 100 (after only two players going to 100 so far from updates) but I'm not sure I could say any single one of them is an absolute lock (not like all the locks from Silver to Gold). Seager should be the absolute lock, but I wouldn't be shocked if he went to 98 or 99 instead.

EDIT: Because no one pays attention, all the bronze cards about to go silver are going for about 28pp, too. I have 300-400 bronzes that I think will go silver. One guy you should definitely grab 10 of today is Votto - I think he's going to go straight gold from his 69 OVR. Nearly a 1000 OPS in his first 20 games of the season or whatever it has been.

I've got some Murphy and Arraez cards. Murphy has been crazy good this season, but I'd guess he just misses this time. If Arraez doesn't go Perfect, I'll be shocked. I sold six of Seager when he went Diamond and haven't reacquired any. That might be a mistake, especially with him going 14-30 to start July and raising his OPS from 1.017 to 1.052. If he doesn't get there this time....

I'm with you on both Murphy and Arraez, I'm holding them also. Murphy has like a 990 OPS, he definitely should to go, but doesn't mean he will, lol
