OOTP History & Images on Site

I have OOTP History 5.3 set up on my site http://www.invitationonlysports.com/...ory/index.html and ran into a big problem with the team logo and photos. They all imported fine into the program, looked great on my machine, and I uploaded the html pages to my site plus the images with no problem. Then the owners in the league told me that they couldn't see the images or logos at all. This confused the heck out of me because I could see them bright as day on my computer. And all of the files (all 85 MBs) were on my server space.

It turned out (with help from a more web knowledgeable owner) that for some reason, the utility set the directory for all of teh images to my local drive, thus allowing me to see the pictures but only me. Short of doing a global repair, am I doing something wrong when I create the html files? Or are we expected to manually change the image directories on our sites that are generated by OOTP History?

Thanks for the help!

This topic interests me as well, as I will hopefully be posting a v5.3 history on the web soon also.

I had the same problem with 5.0 but hadn't checked to see if it had been fixed with 5.3 yet. I suppose it's still a problem.

The way I fixed my HTML files generated from v5.0 was to do a global search & replace in the files.

How did you do your global replace? I'm not sure what the best way/strategy is to change the addresses for each picture. Looks as if that's what I'll have to do. Thanks!

Lemme see...it was a little while ago that I did that.

I used UltraEdit and its Replace In Files function to do the global replace.

What I *think* I did, if I remember correctly, was open up one of the HTML files to see what needed to be converted to what. For example, this is on one of the team pages & points to a team logo:

"C:\catodata\images\logos\atlanta_generals.bmp "

I just did the replace and made it read:

"../../images/logos/atlanta_generals.bmp"

So I would replace this:

C:\catodata\images\logos\

with this:

../../images/logos/

I hope I got that right! If you try replacing, just make sure to keep a backup of the original files, or make sure you can undo the replace somehow. Hope that helps!
