Volunteers Needed for Testing
I have been putting to gather a full-world set-up again this year, but as you can imagine, certain circumstances have made it difficult. I am getting to the point where it should be completed relatively soon, and at that point, I feel it would be a good idea to put it through the wringer.
Basically I am looking for people who might be interested in concentrating on only a league or two. The reason for this is I'd like to have "concentrated eyes" on each league so that we can make each league as realistic and true to life as possible. I have a thick hyde, and can take criticism just fine lol. So, if you se anything that could use tweaking or improving, please do NOT hesitate to let me know. Ok, with that out of the way, I'd like people who actually might enjoy running multiple simulations and providing feedback. If you need any help with resources, I may be able to help you in terms of websites, blogs etc.. I know it can be difficult at times to get good information on foreign leagues. If you are someone who might enjoy doing something like this, you can PM me, and I will in turn get back to you. I'll need peoples' names, email addresses, and a little bit about how experienced you are with modifiers and settings that directly affect the outcome of the game. Thanks, and I hope we can make this a great full-world alternative in 2023. |

I am considering the implementation of a salary cap in the KBO. This is something the league actually did introduce this past offseason. It is NOT in OOTP 24, so I am not sure the reasoning there. The cap is $8.64 million for 3 years. I am thinking about rounding it off to either 8.6 or 8.7..but I haven't really made any final decision here. I think it depends if the AI can handle it or not. I have zero experience in using salary caps in OOTP...so any input on this is welcome.
EDIT: In looking at the KBO payroll for every team...the av payroll is Waaaaay above what the salary caps is. In fact, there isn't one team with a payroll below 9 million...which is the lowest...the highest is over 16 million. Not sure how I can implement this particular cap. I might still be able to do one, but there's just no way it can be 8.64 million. Any thoughts? I'd say 13.5 million appears to be about the average. EDIT: I am wondering if there is a way to make it so contrast are NOT guaranteed??? Last edited by PSUColonel; 04-02-2023 at 10:09 PM. |

Is that a team salary cap or an individual contract maximum?

The KBO implemented a league-wide salary cap for each team. From what I can tell, it's pretty strict also. I don't think I can do the actual salary cap because I don't think any teams would be able to sign players based on the salary demands of this particular league. I don't really want to go in an adjust all of the different salary demands (star player, avg player, etc..) to reflect the new salary cap. That is just way above my pay grade. I am thinking that maybe I could take the avg payroll of all teams and use that as a cap though. There also appear to be rules about how many foreigners can be on the roster and how much they can be paid. The new roster rules are NOT reflected in the KBO Quickstart. Neither is the salary cap. The roster rules really only affect the minor leagues. This could be mirrored in OOTP except the only option for minor league rosters regarding foreigners is either no limit, or none allowed.

PSU, if I understand the request, presumably from QuickStart, I could handle independent leagues, if you have them. Or the Sally League, if that makes better sense. Let me know.
