Capitals trade for Gallagher and are over the cap

Washington traded for Brendan Gallagher and when I clicked on his profile it said his cap hit was like $90,000 for the year.
Thinking not much of it, I fixed this in the player editor, but now Washington is over the cap and they have been for like 3 weeks now.

I have uploaded the league files to the FTP site called "Washington_Over_Cap.zip"

Change it back to how it was before then? 9 million per year for 3rd line player like Gallagher is super unrealistic anyway

This is his actual contract. He will make $9m in 2024/25, but his cap hit will be $6.5m.

I'm not going to set it to $90,000 as that isn't even remotely realistic/accurate. I considered dropping it to half retained by Montreal, but I couldn't figure out how to do that after the fact.

Wow. Its mind-blowing that Gallagher makes more money than Nathan Mackinnon.

Anyway, this $90,000 error will definitely need to be fixed in next update. Hopefully the devs will respond soon.

Can you re-upload that? It's missing all the files alphabetically after team_tactics.dat, I can't load it without those.

Looks like there's a problem with the initial trade, Montreal retained much more salary than they're supposed to be able to - there's exactly the right amount of cap penalty in their cap screen to cover the difference between the amount you saw the Caps paying and his actual salary. We'll check that out; I think it might be calculating the allowable retained value according to his salary and not cap hit, but it might be something else.

The Caps being over is just because the edit doesn't automatically generate a check to see if they're within the cap amount. They fix the overage as soon as they have to make a significant roster move.
