NCAA thoughts and requests for the future

I was holding out on buying FHM until NCAA playability was added, so I was overjoyed to see the addition this year. The game is great, but there are some things that I hope get addressed in the future:
  • The player needs to have better control over scholarships and redshirts. Currently, it seems like redshirts can only be given to players that are academically ineligible. Players should have the option to assign redshirts to any player that hasn't been redshirted. (I should note, I like the mechanic where players leave if they get upset about getting redshirted.) Additionally, the player should have the ability to assign open scholarships. If I want to reward a non-scholarship senior with a partial or full scholarship that I'm not using, I should be able to.
  • Improvements need to be made to make scheduling more realistic. The player should have the ability to schedule non-conference games and accept invitations for high-profile exempt games. For the most part, schools should be playing 34 regular season games. There are exceptions: Alaskan schools and teams that play in Alaska can go to 36. The Icebreaker, a four-team in-season tournament, is exempt. Also, the US Hockey Hall-of-Fame Game is exempt. (This year, that was Arizona State and North Dakota at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.)
  • The player should also have the ability to accept invitations to non-exempt tournaments. (Do keep in mind, some tournaments are linked to certain schools. Michigan, Michigan State, and Michigan Tech should always get invites to the Great Lakes Invitational. Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, and Northeastern should always get invites to the Beanpot.)
  • NCAA tournament games should be played at neutral sites.
  • It should be an extremely high bar to pass, but players should have the ability to drum up institutional support for a new arena. (Off the top of my head, Colorado College, Sacred Heart and Connecticut are moving into new rinks this season.) I would also link facility upgrades and renovations to this system.
  • There shouldn't be a singular verbal commitment event. Aside from NCAA-mandated dead periods, recruiting is constant in college hockey. The player should be trying to sway prospects every week until the signing day event.
  • There needs to be a transfer portal and a recruiting system for graduate transfers.
  • Pairwise! The Pairwise is essentially the formula that determines who goes to the NCAA tournament. The player should always have the ability to see it.

I would like add one thing to this list. Please give us the ability to export players that ‘graduate’ after each season and import them into draft pools of other league save files including custom games.
