United Hockey League Quickstart 1.0

So I've been playing around with this idea for quite a while now, seeing as I struggle with getting burned out while working on one thing for
too long and bounce around from project to project a lot... I based a lot of this off of The Hockey Guy, Shannon Skanes' league that he created in 1983. I'll link to the videos at the bottom of this post. I also drew inspiration from Bacon's Fictional Roster on MLB the Show. I'll link his pages as well. And obviously, a majority of the jerseys were created by Hockey13Playa who, if you're a regular here, really needs no introduction at all

Credit to Cole98 as well for some of his alternate history jerseys, which I've also used. Thank you to Adam B for his fantastic National Anthem Mod. And thank you to all of the wonderful creators at the Goal Horn Database for all of their work recreating the history of hockey Goal Horns. As for the league logo, credit has to go to Txranger. I used the maple leaf logo he posted and the color scheme from one of his other logos. Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. So after watching all of this I decided to follow Shannon's process from back then and create my own backstories etc. I've gone through
just about every player and adjusted personalities, development speed etc. to create an ever evolving league...Or at least I hope so.
I've based a lot of the players off of some of my favorite real life players, legends, and some are just characters my friends and I created as kids to add some diversity. I hope that anyone who downloads this quickstart gets as much enjoyment from playing it as I did creating it.

So after losing all of my files, I was able to salvage some of the pieces and start over. I have some jerseys left to create and I still have to make most of players and iron out some bugs and I'll be including a "read me" of sorts with player and team background etc, but I'll be posting the file as soon as I can. I'll be periodically updating this post with expansion teams that I'm planning on using and I'll gladly try and create jerseys for anyone who would like to add something specific. Also, feel free to post your own work as that's always welcome and appreciated. I'll also be updating, adding rinks and other levels of customization as I go along. I can add an updated quickstart with everything, and separate files with rinks, horns, etc. I've kept the junior league pretty basic. I've made the CHL one league with several teams from each of the leagues. I'll be updating periodically adding more leagues and players and I'll try and fix any bugs etc. that I come across. If you find any spelling errors, facegen issues, or anything like that, please do not hesitate to let me know. And don't worry, I have saved backups of EVERYTHING this time xD

So I ended up catching Covid after nearly 3 years and I've been stuck in bed coughing up my insides for the last several days...xD

Anyways, not important. What is important, is that I'm currently putting the league structure together and creating the players. I should have the initial beta release out in the next few days depending on how much I can accomplish.

Wellp. I was working on a beta file to upload the other day, playing around with personalities and such, and my external hard drive decided to fail and crash. I'm running a repair scan now. If that doesn't work, I'm going to take it to a specialist. If that doesn't work, it looks like I'm starting over from the beginning

That is frustrating when that happens, what I do I save my progress as a Quickstart & then save it as a zip file and put the zip file in Google Drive or any online storage of your choice.

Unfortunately, a vast majority of my files were lost. I'm going to try and get this up and running for the next iteration of FHM and have most of the kinks worked out by then. Such is my luck :|

Looking good, excited to try this when it comes out. Somehow I ended up creating a fictional hockey league also called the United Hockey League and ended up making a bunch of graphics for it including a league logo. I probably subconsciously used your idea 😂

Would you like to provide information what exactly problems did you counter during setuping leagues, changing financial points, budgets, market size, promo/rel feature feedback? What you would make differently?

My biggest issue is being a perfectionist while also wanting to work on everything at the same time xD

EDIT: Seeing as 11 is out in a few days, I'm going to keep making cosmetic edits and adding players to try and get a beta ready for the 25th or 26th. (I say this like I haven't missed every single deadline I've set for myself thus far

Quick little update. Here's the Hampton Roads Rhinos. Instead of Hartford moving in 1997 to Carolina, there was an attempt to move them to Norfolk Virginia and play as the Hampton Roads Rhinos. The deal fell through and the Carolina Hurricanes were born. In the UHL I've created them as an expansion franchise in 1997 where they'll relocate in a few seasons to Carolina.
