Team Harmony
Following my post about fan happiness, I've advanced in my save and maybe it's bad luck but after one season, I think there were far too many team harmony events : I recount 4 off-ice incidents and as many cliques formed. I dismantled every one of the exept the last one that was created by a newly aquired player.
The 2023-24 regular season hasn't started yet and my team is in disruptive hostility with a 25 fan happiness. This time I'll just deal with it and see what happens. I do have 2 disruptive players but 7 leaders so it seems balanced? I'd like to know if it's just bad luck or if most of you see as much team harmony events as I do. If so, I'd say it's a bit too much to deal with? |

Is being unpopular for a player can impact that as well ? |

I'd just pay attention to if he gets in trouble off ice or not, because both of the instances I've had were regarding off ice incidents that made the team mad.

It depends though because if I'm a team who's in a sticky situation and needs talent and the only guy acquirable is a bad egg I may still take the shot but if I'm taking my time over it and I've got a wealth of options then yeah I'll steer clear. |

Yeah I think it was either bad luck or disruptive players. I'm in 2028 in one of my saves and have averaged less than 1 off ice incident per season. And some seasons I dont remember seeing any.
I also tend to not acquire players that have disruptive traits. Or if I have one and they're mediocre, I'll usually just proactively trade them away before something occurs. |

Which league are you guys playing? NHL? NCAA?
I play NHL and only have made it into my second season. I think I see maybe 2 to 3 off-ice incidents and 2 to 4 cliques. That doesn't seem too many but at the same time, if all teams average 2 off ice incidents then you are talking about 60+ players getting into some sort of trouble during the regular season. I'm just not sure how common that is (now, if we are talking about NFL, then that's a different story ![]() I understand off ice incidents/cliques add a little variety to the game and a new challenge for players, but I do think they should be fairly rare at the NHL level or to certain around younger players. I would be curious if there are more off ice incidents/cliques in NCAA or the minors were the players are typically younger and maybe not quite mature. I generally don't worry about cliques or team harmony much, I focus on winning. As they say, winning solves a lot of problems. |

Thank you all for you feedbacks. I'm close to trade deadline in my 2nd season with the Canadiens and I've seen 2 more cliques and one more off-ice incident happen.
What happened is that Jack Eichel was in conflict with a dozen of players and I assume it created this mess. The team wasn't winning so it obviously didnt help. But Eichel doesn’t have a disruptive personality, he's unpopular, and the scouting reports says he's prone to controversy, so maybe there's a hidden personality rating that is very close to disruptive. I decided to flip Eichel for a defenceman (doesn’t make a ton of sense if I were to play in a realistic approach but nevermind) and the team harmony is acceptable now, even with the 2 cliques. I do find it difficult to keep fan happiness at a decent value, some events are too punishing in my opinion. For example, mid-season evaluation : -4 points, I didn't need this lol. There even was a -7 points off-ice incident around Carey price who was on Injury list since the beginning of my save, it didn't really make sense to me. Traded him as well haha. This system brings something interesting to the game and I'm happy to know it's not happening too much in your own saves because it gets frustrating sometimes. |

I think I'm done with this save. Another off-ice incident around Quinn Hughes who is said to "stay out of trouble off the ice" in the scouting report...
After two playoffs games he's in conflict with 5 players (2 level 9 and 3 level 5). Then another one, as big, around my other defenceman Merkley. Then more cliques formed (I currently have 5 cliques in my team). My team had a nice record after the trade deadline (and maybe because I had a few calm months in team harmony) and making it to the playoffs while I'm in rebuild was cool, but this is getting ridiculous, I had like 7 incidents in two seasons and I got rid of all the disruptive guys. Back to disruptive hostility and 1 in fan happiness that I slowly started to build again... This is a joke. ![]()

That's an underrated tip right there, crazy some of the variance in peoples experience with the TH system this year.

I also won the lottery and snagged Connor Bedard, who in addition to being a "leader" was also the lone "popular" player on the team. His personality description was across the board positive. Fast forward to offseason Year 2. Suddenly there's an unspecified "incident" involving Bedard, an uprising occurs, rifts and cliques form, and my team with 100 Harmony cracks like an egg. I love the concept of Team Harmony because of the narratives it creates. But some refinement is needed here. Young players -- even popular leaders -- make mistakes. But given Bedard's standing with the team prior to the incident ("leader", "popular", high chemistry, face of the franchise), you would think the team's veteran leaders (two of whom were his line mates) would pull him aside and rectify the situation. I know options are coming in a future patch, but until they do I found a manual workaround for anyone else frustrated by a Team Harmony incident -- activate Commissioner mode, go to the player page of the guilty party (in my case Bedard), and edit their "Controversy" rating to 0. Conflicts immediately vanish. |

I did pay attention to the scouting reports starting my 2nd season but it wasn't enough, but thanks for the tip, I modified my coach rating (I took Jeff Gorton and his ratings were pretty low in these categories.) I'll see if if it helps !

Thanks a lot for the info, I thought the controversy rating had to be higher for a player to have a better personality, but in this case it's the other way around. I'll probably delete the conflict with Hughes that is supposed to be a nice guy in his report... |

I just started my third season so limited experience but I am not sure I've had 2 cliques at the same time, much less 3 and certainly not 5.
The fact you had 3 start on June 1st seems awful unusual. Not saying it's a bug, but a really odd coincidence at the minimum. |
