Content Creators/Mod Makers

I'm not requesting you do anything, but I would like for you to consider what's going on. This game and it's community is built on your backs. The OOTP devs have recently nuked everyones personal saves and their custom creations. In this time they have not contacted the community at all with any explanation.

Ask yourselves if this is something you want to support. Most of you put your time in for free and for love of the community. The devs have shown that isnt a priority in their recent decisions. They sell their product (possibly illegally) and use your content for free to push the product. You are creators. You don't deserve this.

I personally wouldnt leave my content up. Maybe it's time you considered to pull the content until the devs respond to the situation or explain themselves. If it is something you agree with , put it back up, but at this point I don't see the point in ever letting them use your work again. It's time to stop spending your time to support corporate greed.

I don't know anything because of no communication. So why assume they didnt have a choice? Why does everyone mention bankruptcy? Did they mess up our files to save their money then?

Here's what we do know. They purposely made the choice to destroy our saves.

That's it. I was careful to ask mods about a few things as to not assume or spread misinformation. Which is what this "had no choice" bull hunky is. You assume the best when only a malicious action has occured.

And if you did want to be compensated for all the time/effort you put in (to pretend for one second that this thread was made out of genuine concern that people are compensated for their labour, and not the next in a line of attempts to undermine the game from someone who yesterday made a post warning OOTP they would do their best to get every other league in the game to follow [redacted]'s steps), I'm sure I'm not the only one here that would be happy to throw a coffee or two your way as appreciation for your time and as a thank you for all the content you've provided and will presumably continue to provide.

Throw someone a coffee for hours of free work that helps sell a game that has thousands of downloads. Bet you offer up jobs to people and offer to pay them in the "exposure" they'll get. Not sure why you so blindly think they are on the up and up when nothing has been done recently to show that at all.

I'm not offering silvam a job and asking them to do something I want them to do, I am offering to provide them with a tip/donation/whateveryouwanttocallit as a thank you for what they have chosen to do.

Perhaps if you detached yourself from shilling crypto platforms as the future of content, you would see that the *actual* future of content is crowdfunding where a creator receives a small amount from many different people as a way to generate income (either enough to support themselves, or as a hobby on the side). (see: Twitch, YT, Patreon, and https://www.buymeacoffee.com/)

FWIW my personal save was not nuked. All custom mods are still in place too. IOW it wasn't "everyone".

I have not shilled a crypto anything or platform of any kind. The closest thing to crypto here the collection of money by OOTP, and then rug pulling their customers once caught performing illegal activities lol. But first they pissed on the rug before pulling it by purposely destroying users creations/saves.

I put in my time specifically to provide a substitute for the fans of [LEAGUE REDACTED], something that looks and feels close enough to the real thing. The players are fictional, but the financials and player creation modifiers are based on a pre-Build 108 setup.

If people like me truly miss [LEAGUE REDACTED], then I hope my passion project makes them feel better.

I am personally done..not for spite (although I don’t appreciate that I got an infraction or that many of my posts have been deleted) but rather because of frustration, time, energy and malaise.

I spent a lot of time on logos over the years, and I have spend a lot of time setting up and refining leagues over the years. I do not have the energy to start the process of setting up and maintaining any longer, and I just feel I can run a realistic world setup without the league in question.

I also have some strong suspicions about other things that I am not permitted to discuss, so that is playing into my decision also.

Like I said before, I don’t blame the developers even though the solution/response to this issue was about as bad as it can get. I no longer feel this is a “ultimate sandbox” for baseball, so I am simply making the personal decision to file away all of the mods I have collected and made over the years. I have also uninstalled OOTP and don’t really have any plans to re-install it in the near future.

Again, nobody’s fault, but just a bad situation, and a personal decision on my end to quit this wonderful hobby. I have always wanted things depicted accurately in my saves…and while I realize things can’t and won’t always be perfect, this issue just goes a step too far for me.

I think all of us here are putting unjust blame on OOTP here when it should be on Konami. OOTP shouldn't be selling the game with leagues it doesn't have the license to, but they had Nippon for years. Konami is only going after them because OOTP is under a Korean company now.

Now as for my mods though, all of mine are tailored to the leagues OOTP has a license for im keeping them up no question.

I'm not going to get into this much... but you think mods are made for compensation? They're made because the makers enjoy the game and make something they want to enjoy and choose to share it with others. As far as the things that have recently transpired, if you routinely back up your files like any smart computer user, there are ways to still play this game the way its meant to be played.

Konami didn't alter our saves. OOTP did. There has only been that action. Everything else is speculation. What do we know? Nothing. Except the devs silence after purposely bugging our product.

Except we do know other things. We know the history of Konami and how they have dealt with FM about similar issues.

I'm not exactly sure what you are hoping to get out of this crusade.

Do you want a refund? I imagine they might provide that and there are channels for that process.

Do you want to vent? I understand that to a point, but you have gone way past what is reasonable.

As it stands, you are trolling these boards and making the general experience worse for everyone. What happened has happened and you are now in control of how you deal with that. If OOTP is no longer for you, that is fine but it would be appreciated if you quit pissing in the coffee around here.
