Setting spring training schedule
For some reason during the spring training portion of my schedule, I only play teams from my league and not the opposite side.
Is there any way to set things up so I get to chance to see virtually every team during the spring? |

Maybe find a thread for OOTP 24 requests to place this in? I'm sure you're not the first to want something like this |

You could establish new Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues with appropriate teams in each, and a Spring schedule; but as I understand it, the game would not treat that as “Spring Training” for purposes of things like learning a new position, or pitchers’ arms getting ready, or shaking the rust off. Your Spring schedule would be “detached” from your regular season.
You could also take control of the schedule - manually - for the existing Spring Training. I have done that, laboriously. What I don’t know is whether there is some way to manipulate the schedule automatically within Spring Training, without inadvertently “detaching” your Spring Training performances from your regular season. I enjoy Spring Training games - a different opponent every day, larger rosters, lots of pitchers and subs, trying out new players. It’s also a great way to experience a new edition of OOTP. With care, you can sort out your rotation, bullpen, starting lineups, bench - all based on actual performance in ST games. As you make cuts, you can assign young players to the appropriate minor league level. And if you face a lack of depth somewhere, you can pore over the DFA list, free agents, or engineer a trade. Plus the weather is great…. For full realism, would be great to schedule “B” games on the same day as other matchups, to let more guys get action. Admittedly this is all labor-intensive when you play out Spring games, and you are no closer to regular season. Last edited by Pelican; 09-05-2022 at 01:33 PM. |
