No Free Agents Being Signed
Tried looking around for this one but my below average search abilities did not locate one so....
Started a historical league in '76, simmed it out took over expansion Mariners in '77. No problems except now in the offseason of 76-77, no free agents are being signed and we're in mid December, past the Winter Meetings. Seems weird. The only thing I can think of is maybe since it's an expansion year the CPU is waiting till after the expansion draft to sign free agents, but that seems weird still with Joe Morgan, Fisk and other great players out there. Lots of trades so far, but literally no free agents signings at all from the end of the season up to Dec 15 thus far. |

Did you change any other settings when setting up the league?
Do teams have money for Free Agents? I hear no free agent signings and think "Collusion... " |

I didn't change anything other than some things that shouldn't have any effect. Draft lottery, trading of picks allowed and draft lottery reveal at winter meetings I think are literally my only changes other than turning re-calc off. Everything else is default. Every team has plenty of money for free agents/extensions. Teams were signing free agents during the season but now once the offseason has began there have been only trades for a few months now. No signings at all. Very weird. I'm hoping it's not some weird bug where if you add a draft lottery, trading of draft picks and draft lottery reveal at winter meetings turned on, no one signs free agents or something lol.

Just simmed up to the expansion draft and using default expansion draft settings, there were only 3 players in the draft. Something's weird for sure. I deleted the league since I just started it up and will try again but I have no idea what to do if all the default settings are messing things up. I checked the box to import real minor leagues on league start as well because when I didn't, everyone just had the one reserve roster with no minor league structure.
I have no idea really, seems like a default setup to me but I'll try again |

There was a bug with expansion drafts that got fixed a couple weeks ago in a patch. Make sure you are on the latest version. That bug was related to service time, so no one was eligible for the expansion draft (everyone had 0 years' service time). That might be the issue with seeing only three players.
The real minors may help too with the expansion draft - that's where a lot of the expansion eligible players reside. I can't think why those settings would impact FA signings but may need to upload the .dat files for the developers to look at. |

Ah thanks much, that might be it then, looks like FA started signing the week after the expansion draft so maybe that's what's screwing it up a bit. I'll check that out.
Cheers |

One last thing, I assume the latest patch that fixes this issue is still in beta and that's likely why I don't have it yet (I believe Steam auto pushes once it's out of beta?)
Thanks Much |
