Importing stats

When starting a new historical league, all players stats are set to zero MLB appearances. Is there a way I can import their career stats so they pick right up from where they left off?

Gonna bump this one. Can anyone provide guidance? I am actually a couple of months into my league and the fact that certain players' Career Stats are limited to only my current season is triggering lol. It does say "Real Stats" when I click on the players, but I would like those "real stats" to be used in my game world.

Are you sure you didn't hit any of the "Erase" options on the lower left-hand side of this screen? I believe the default is they come with their stats up to the year you start the game. Never encountered otherwise but maybe there is something on the Advanced part of the league creation set-up wizard that got untoggled (even if I've never noticed it).

That definitely seems to be the case for creating a league from scratch, but I chose the "Historical League" and had the cpu dump a bunch of random players into the league, then had a fantasy draft. (It is super cool actually)

I Like I said the stats are there under "real stats" but its almost like they exist in a completely different world than my league. I definitely didn't hit erase anything...

So, it's a Random Debut game with an Inaugural draft?

Got it, Historical Season in 2005 - so it's all the 2005 players plus the Random guys you personally imported to join them - not a formal Random Debut set-up, correct? And the guys missing stats are all the 2005 ones plus the imported ones?

I dont think all of the 2005 players are there. It is a Random Debut. You can actually have the game generate a full list of players from all eras. That's what I did. The only thing "2005" about the game is the stadiums and the rules and the state of the game.

Actually I am looking at the start options again, and there are 3 options 1. Importing the Negro Leagues2. Importing complete history of the league and 3. Random players from all eras. Tickiing off 3 makes 2 and 1 disappear.

So, in a Random Debut game, the histories of the players won't follow them because time is out of joint. If a 30-year-old Ted Williams comes into an Inaugural Draft in a 2005-starting Random Debut game, he won't have his 1939-48 stats. It's like you literally just created the game of baseball and the game's accompanying stats... and there is this guy from San Diego that wants to leave his day job and try this new baseball thing. If you manually imported him, though, he should have those stats (and you can decide in the import screen if you want that 30-year-old 1949 season in his history). That's how I recall it working.

Thats basically it brother. Its a shame, because I love my team that I drafted, but I think my immersion might be getting broken too much. Things like the Hall of Fame are completely empty. I dont think I can continue. Back to the drawing board.

Got to think of your 2005 as 1871... there was somebody who just missed getting their name in baseball reference or was the best but was in the league for just their later years. Like this guy in real life from whose name we get the word "Ace" in its baseball context:

That's how I think of it anyway. Can always import a new Ted Williams (or whomever) into the draft class in some future time period. As for the HOF... it was empty until 1936 :P

Thats a nice way of looking at it. I also just am messing around and some of these historical seasons are so cool once they have been loaded, especially the Negro leagues. Might start a save as some basement dwelling team from the 40s, break the color barrier and become a dynasty. What do you think?

The post-WWII St. Louis Browns await you. Ownership just crazy enough to throw convention to the wind. Go big or go home, I say...
