Standard Mode Questions from a beginner
Ok so I go to setup my standard mode and it asks me to select real world leagues.
1. Is there a benefit to having the other leagues in this game selected? Can I get players from those leagues? I did notice the more leagues you have selected the longer it takes to process everything. 2. What does Live Start do other than start from todays date and ratings? |

1. The vast number of possible leagues around the world reflects the fact that OOTP has lots of fans and users outside the US, as well as plenty of US fans who are fascinated by baseball played elsewhere. You are correct that adding too many leagues creates a large database, longer saves, more disc space. But, as always, you can play the game your way. I have never used international leagues, except a few as Winter ball alternatives, in the Caribbean and Australia. Just having MLB and full minors is a lot of data. But, hey, if I was a guy Like Markus, growing up in Germany, I would love the Euro leagues.
2. Live start, among other things, allows you to create and then save a simulation that is “ready to play”, ideally with teams having full rosters and uniforms and stadiums and maybe lineups and rotations and a schedule. You can then share what you have created with others, plus have a starting point, if you want to go back and re-run from the beginning. (For you, this can also be accomplished with a backup.). There is a toggle option during setup that would allow you to update to 2022 stats as the season progresses. |
