Error when trying to advance to next day
I've never seen this before. Anyone have any ideas what this means? For the record, I can't clear it. If I hit "OK", it sims a day and the error stays.

Made my way back to the start screen and tried to reload the file. And I'm getting this error. This game was just created, in OOTP 23.
Also--this is happening immediately upon updating to the latest build. |

My first guess is that the installation of the most recent build got borked. Turn off the virus protection for 15 min, reinstall and see if it takes.

*knocks on wood* it seems reinstalling fixed this. It’s interesting…played OOTP for 12years and never had an issue with an update. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I spoke way too soon. I'm getting different errors depending on what I'm trying to do. If I try to save the game, I'm getting an error saying that the database has been restored, but file has not been saved. I'm perplexed.

Now I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that I had been trying to advance while on the "Historical Simulation Accuracy" screen. Why it would matter, I don't know, but I'm not seeing this issue when I'm advancing while on a different screen.

This is from a different, brand new save. I can't believe this. And this is when I'm trying to close OOTP all together. So it won't close because it refuses to save.

Geez. Maybe File>Settings>Troubleshooting>Force Game data reinstallation?
I can't think of anything else to try after that. |

I get that too, always from the historical accuracy screen... If you go to task manager and exit the program you will start at your last save. I have mine set to save Jan 1st of every year, so I have made it a habit not to look at historical accuracy screen until after the Jan. 1st save.
Edit - Other than that error message once you shutdown and reboot I won't get that error again until I open the historical accuracy tab again .. sometimes it works fine and sometimes it doesn't... kind of a mess! Last edited by bwiese3908; 07-15-2022 at 09:25 PM. |

So it IS because of that screen. That’s infuriating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Unfortunately it definitely is from that screen... Before i start any save game I always sim about 20-50 years just to make sure the stats look good. I only have ever seen that error when using that screen to check on how the stats are looking. There is no rhyme or reason to when it works and doesn't work... it is a pain for sure. |

Thankfully for me, it has never corrupted the save. However, you will get that error when going to that screen about 60% of the time... it stinks but it has never corrupted my data thankfully. I get the blank screen sometimes too, it seems to all be part of the same error. |
