Acquire A Hometown Player
How do I accomplish this? I'm playing as the Jays and I just traded for John Axford, who was born less than two hours from Toronto. Still says no progress. Does the player have to be from straight up Toronto? Because it's slim pickings (obviously Jordan Romano is already on the team). The next closest is Jordan Balazovic from Mississauga.

I believe that they have to be from the city. In most cases, it's not a fire-able offense not to fulfill that goal.

To add to that, my understanding of OOTP code (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) is that the game doesn't know that Mississauga or Simcoe are within a couple hours of Toronto. It just knows that Toronto and Simcoe are different places.

Random update: I traded for Axford from Norfolk County, Ontario and it didn't count. But I just traded for Dominic Leone from Norwich, Connecticut, and apparently that was good enough.

The things you have to do to keep these owners satisfied. LOL
Oh well, both are former Jays and here's hoping you don't end up wishing they had stayed former Jays. (But I suspect you might) |

I think there's a checkbox or filter on the find a player screen that sort of allows you to filter on who will satisfy this requirement. Unless it just shows players from that exact MLB city, I forget.

Much easier than cut payroll or have X amount of money but make the playoffs by next year.

Go to MLB Reports and Info. Then Find a Player. There's an option (3rd one down on the left) that should say from whatever area your team is. Click that and you'll get a listing.
