Inability to submit contract offer

I have only been playing for a couple days now but I've had an inability to submit a contract offer across a couple different saves in FHM 8. This is true whether it is a free agent or one of the players for whom my team has the rights. This is also true whether before the season or in season. I can meet demand or ask for response, but the submit offer button is grayed out and thus I cannot finalize an offer. Not sure if this is an error or if there is just something I am missing/not understanding here. Has anybody else encountered this or have a possible explanation?

Edit: I also cannot make a contract offer to my own player under contract (i.e. can't extend a player who is willing to extend).

Yeah, it's a bit tricky. Kind of like a three step process. You have to click on 'Meet Demand' then 'Ask For Response,' after which the 'Submit Offer' button should become available.

Hahaha thanks for the response. Can't believe that didn't occur to me LOL. In my defense, in OOTP baseball you don't have to do that--meet demand and ask for response are exclusive options (ie you choose one or the other, then hit submit offer.
