**restart**

**EDIT: Because I built a nearly fully autonomous program to help me with my history. Everything is automated from the CSV export files except the logos and uniforms. I have to manually drop them in, but the years below the images are automated. So it is much easier to update. But, I had to restart my league to get all of the CSV exports from the beginning. So instead of posting each franchise's history and logos, I will have a PDF link to look at some of those. Below is a low-res screenshot of one team from the PDF. Right now it only has the 24 teams that I currently have to start the universe in year 1890.

1900: The USBL is founded

Welcome to the history of the United States Baseball League and the baseball universe of a fictionalized version of baseball history. Eventually the universe will grow to include a 48-team USBL, a 200-team NCAA, 3 affiliated minor leagues, and 7 international leagues. Once I get into the actual USBL (in 1900), I will try to update at least the standings every 5 years or so. I'll also try and get some pics of logos and uniforms as the teams and universe expand.

BASEBALL BEFORE THE USBL

The seeds of what would become the USBL were started with the establishment of the Eastern League of Professional Baseball (The Eastern League) and the National Baseball League in 1890. Also founded in 1890, was the Cuban Association of Base Ball Clubs, an amateur outfit out of Cuba (since it is an amateur league at its start, logos were not made).

The sport of baseball in America really didn't begin to take off until a third major league called the United Players League of Professional Baseball (The Players League) is founded in 1895 by the best stars of the era who wanted a bigger piece of the money. Stars like Sammy Marshall, Martin Parsons and Kit Rigdon.

The USBL was founded after the 1899 seasons on January 1st, 1900 with the season to start in April 1900. The USBL is formed by 20 teams from the Eastern League, National Baseball League, and the Players League. Teams were expected to pay $15,000 to join the USBL. Those that couldn't formed a new league with major league aspirations called the American Baseball Federation. Some teams were not allowed to join the USBL because of the influence of Eastern League owners in forming the USBL. Despite successes in their respective leagues:

Indianapolis Baseball Club (4 Championships in NBL) couldn't join due to monetary reasons.

Empire State Baseball Club (2nd in UPL in 1898) couldn't join because Brooklyn area was given to the Eastern League team Brooklyn Baseball Club.

Atlantics Baseball Club (Finished in top half of UPL in its last 3 years) couldn't join because it was decided there were too many New York City based teams in the USBL.

Question. What international leagues are you using? I've always had a grand idea like this but I always get stuck on trying to plan out the history

International Leagues

I would say start small and build from there. I have been working on this whole universe since at least OOTP 16. I just keep adding to it as I go. As you will see, my uniforms and logos get better over time. At first I was using a lot of the great stuff I found here on the forums. TXRanger has a bunch of great stuff. I use an Excel sheet to plan out every five years or so. This includes the current iteration and then any changes: expansion, relocations, new leagues are color coded so I know what to add when. It's been fun to make new team names, logos, uniforms and such, but I'm also a Photoshop nerd.

Here is my planning spreadsheet: Baseball World.xlsx

Cuban League in 1900 with 6 teams
expands in 1915 to 8 teams
expands in 1950 to 10 teams
expands in 1962 to 11 teams
expands in 1970 to 12 teams

English Baseball League in 1906 with 8 teams
expands in 1915 to 10 teams
moves to a relegation system in 1917 with current members founding the English Champions League
becomes Tier 2 of English Baseball Association (top 2 promoted, bottom 2 relegated)
expands in 1917 to 10 teams
expands in 1925 to 16 teams

Canadian Baseball League in 1910 with 10 teams
expands in 1916 to 16 teams
retracts in 1938 to 14 teams
retracts in 1955 to 12 teams

English Champions League in 1917 with 10 teams from the English Baseball League
becomes Tier 1 of English Baseball Association (bottom 2 relegated)

English National Baseball League in 1925 with 22 teams
becomes Tier 3 of English Baseball Association (top 2 promoted)

Japan Professional League in 1935 with 8 teams
expands in 1963 to 10 teams

Mexican National Baseball League in 1935 with 8 teams

Australian Baseball League in 1965 with 8 teams

Caribbean Professional League of Baseball in 1974 with 8 teams

Latin American Baseball Federation in 1988 with 12 teams

Korean Professional Baseball in 1995 with 8 teams

European Baseball Federation in 2000 with 16 teams
