Historical simulation-ball park can't select
When I try to play a historical simulation world series, no matter what park I select for the home teams, I only get the default park in the actual game screen.

Yes, that's normal as we don't include actual historical park graphics in the game. To get these parks, you'd need to install some mods. The main one for historical parks can be found here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=287547
and there are plenty of others as well in the mods section on the site or on the Steam Workshop.

I have all the historical parks installed(and they are great), and they work in a 'normal' game/season. When I select Play Ball in the Historical Exhibition, the next screen shows the selected park for the home team, e.g. Atlanta Fulton County, but what comes up in the play screen is the default park. This happens no matter what teams I select for a Historical Exhibition. As a followup, I tried a Historical Exhibition with two 2019 team and it selects the OOTP supplied parks for the games and they show up on the game screen. Could the problem with historic parks be that they use .obj files for the parks and the parks that come with OOTP use .pod files? Last edited by Braden; 12-24-2021 at 08:31 AM. Reason: add info |

I played 1986 world series and the first game was played at Shea Stadium (my park)
check your era_ballparks.txt and make sure it is in line with the mod

I am trying to play the 1995 WS. This is the name of Atlanta file in the Models folder: Atlanta_Fulton_County_Stadium_1974-1996
The first time you hit the play button, it shows the park as Atlanta Fulton County Stadium 1 (the whole file name is not displayed) This is what it says it the era_ballpark_text: (I don't know what all the numbers & ATLs mean) 1996,NL, ATL,ATL,Atlanta Braves,Atlanta Fulton County Stadium 1974-1996,2901242,1.045484949,1,1,1.045484949,ATL,ATL,A TL,52900,o,g,330,358,385,402,385,358,330,10,10,10, 10,10,10,10,0.981808638,0.98340033,0.953897959,1.2 47492317,0.989783749,0.998247429,1.04532864,1.0484 66728,0.986514817,0.991873173,1.001640345,1.130332 179 I see that the numbers 330 thru all the 10s are the field dimensions. They do not match what is in your park. I assume that 52900 is the seat capacity. That doesn't match either. If all those decimal numbers are the ballpark factors, they don't match either. I don't know if the miss-match is causing the problem but don't now why it should. Last edited by Braden; 12-28-2021 at 03:00 PM. Reason: Update |

Looks like there's an extra space before the first ATL. Not sure that would even matter, though.

Since it shows the park name in first game button, I would think it wouldn't matter. Anyway, I just went back and looked at the era ballpark text and there is no space there. It must have got in when I copied for this. |

The parks in era_ballparks should have matching names with what you see in game

I started a 1949 world series
first game show yankee stadium 1938-1951 my era_ballparks.txt screenshot shown. they match. yours don't seem to match. When you download my all-in one stadium mod, it has an updated era_ballparks file. just pull that out and replace the one in game

Well, I thought it was fixed, but Jacobs Field doesn't work. It says it is selected, but the game screen is the default. I used your Jacobs folder and replaced the text file. It worked for Fulton County but not Jacobs. I have no idea why it doesn't work. Braden |

Is the jacobs field .prk file in the ballparks directory?

Yes
I also deleted that field and copied it from your mega pack to the models folder, as well as recopying the era text file. Still doesn't work. I then started a new exhibition WS-1954 and both parks work fine. Maybe the drummer is missing from your 1995 Jacobs! Last edited by Braden; 12-30-2021 at 04:51 PM. |

Braden, if you have the Steam version of the game, I suggest subscribing to the Silvam historical ballparks mod there and installing it from Workshop Central in the game.

I have tried this a couple more times with the same results. The last time, I saved and exited the game. I checked the Jacobs folder to make sure it was from your mega download. It was, and the .prk file was in it. When I returned to the game by selecting opening a previously game, I select NO instead of Yes, which took me away from the exhibition mode and to the "normal" game screen. I looked Jacobs it, and it was all there, except the .obj file. So I added it manually. For some reason, it did not pick it up from the .prk file. It played using Jacobs fine but, of course, when I exited the game and selected the game it went straight to the "regular" game screen. Based on all this, I think there is something wrong with the .prk file for this park. Maybe it is corrupted. All the other parks I have used in the WS exhibitions work fine. |

I have found that sometimes, the prk files can be inconsistent. What you have to do is to manually add the obj file and then try to regenerate the prk file and replace it in the ballparks directory
