Historical Game - No Hall of Fame inductions

So after about 1st or 2nd season the Hall of Fame induction disappeared. Still getting the HoF Nominations, Hof Ballot and Runoffs ... but nobody is in fact inducted

This seemed to have occurred right after the very first HoF Induction where there were no nominees

After some testing it's easily reproducible. Start a historical game in say 1944 with no career stats. When the first HoF Ballot comes around there will be no nominees as nobody met the criteria.

When the HoF Induction ceremony comes around it will present you the 4 blank picture but the "Show next" buttons will be greyed out. You have to use continue to next day to get past this.

Going forward, year over year now, you will get the HoF Nominee and Ballot events however the actual Induction event will never fire again.

This isn't a bug. You created a game where no one has any stats, therefore no one qualifies for the Hall - hence the blank screen.

That would explain the first year ... it wouldn't explain that for the next ten season I could nominate and vote on Hall of flame players but no induction ceremony would fire.

Seems there's a few events like this that seemingly just "disappear"

First season, every month on the 1st I'm reminded to set my monthly budget. Every season after that 1st season no more reminder.

Current save, I started in 1930 so that by the time the HoF comes around there would be players available for the first year of the HoF ... but now on Jun 30th my "score" screen never fires so no skill improvements for my manager.

Same with Annual budgets ... 1st season it fired correctly on July 1st. Never again, have to manually remember to go into Annual budget on 1st of July.

Sorry you're having issues with events not firing, and while this is certainly not a 'fix,' you could try setting a recurring reminder through the manager notes system. (It might help for now).

There's a known issue with Budgets disappearing in Historical. We are currently investigating - as well as the Score - but thank you for reporting it.

May also want to flag the HoF issue

Just to reiterate, if you start a Historical game and the first HoF has no nominees when the induction ceremony fires it has 4 blank pictures and the Show Next does nothing.

You then have to use "to next day" or similar to bypass. Once you've done that every season there after in June you will get to nominate and vote on HoF candidates. However on August 1st the HoF Inductions event never fires again.

My current save starting in 1930 I just made it to 1945 and the first HoF and it had inductees (lowered all the requirements to make sure). I'll see how the 2nd season goes.


PS: Fixed the manager score by saving, quitting and reloading

Are you changing any of the default Hall of Fame settings when this happens? I've tried it with a few different years, and when I start the game with no stats and everything else on defaults, the nominations and ceremony don't occur at all (since there's no one to nominate.)

No. I could see this being the problem if in fact in June and July there were no nominees being presented at all. Which indeed is what triggers the real problem.

The issue is if for any reason you get to the Hall Of Fame induction ceremony with nobody eligible it permanently breaks the Hall of Fame inductions ceremony even if in future years you have players who were nominated and voted in. The induction ceremony itself will never fire again once it breaks that first season.

In order, the steps to produce this:

1) Start a historical game with no career stats no earlier than 1939/40. I had this happen on at least 3 saves where I started in the 1939/40 season (the year M.Richard first appears).

2) On July 2nd there will be no Hall of Fame nominees to vote for

3) Play/sim to the HoF Induction date (August 1st). Since there were no nominess, the screen will have 4 blank pictures, the continue button says "Hof Ceremeny" or whatever, but you'll have to manually skip to next day

4) Continue play

5) At some point you will have players who retire that meet the criteria and now every June you are presented with a list of people to nominate. In July you are presented with a list of people to vote for

6) Sim to August 1st after voting ... and the Continue button remains the Continue button. Sim to August 2nd and there is no news article announcing anyone inducted, nor does anyone ever appears under World -> Hall of Fame. This continued for 15 seasons past 1945 before I started a new save. In the last 5 season (1955-1960) I was definitely voting on a dozen eligible players to enter the HoF ... but no induction ceremony ever took place


Also ... if HoF is set to committee are the statistical settings ignored? I'm looking at the list of nominees in my curret save and not one of them meets any of the criteria.
