Special Abilities...

... do players acquire them over time? i have played 20 seasons in historical mode and haven't seen any players who i had over the years have one. Only some of the players have them at beginning of the game.

Not sure about developing over time, but I get the impression they're intentionally rare. After all, if they were too common they wouldn't really be 'special' anymore. So for me, I think of them as something special that distinguishes generational type players.

Well some of the top rated players in my game dont have any special abilities even after quite few seasons gone like Kane, Malkin, Backstroom, Bergeron, Stamkos, Kovalchuk, Zetterberg, Hedman, Karlsson, Doughty, Josi, Pitroangelo, Letang, Tavares, O'Reily

They don't acquire them over time - for real players, they're in the database at the start of the game, and for game-created players they're assigned when the player is generated.

Are they only in historical games or standard as well?
Do players ever lose their special abilities (like as they get older?)

Is it something we can edit in commissioner mode at some point?

It would be cool if players could develop special abilities if they perform well or do something historical.
