Team chemistry question
I was looking at my team chemistry and I have two players who are listed as being potential "negative" players, despite neither one of them being on the active roster.
Starting pitcher Jesse McNaboe is out for the season with Tommy John surgery. He is not scheduled to be able to return until January. He is considered unmotivated. Relief pitcher Chris Eason is has been on the 60-day injured list since June 10 -- it is currently August 1, 2036 in my league -- with a torn triceps is expected to be out another seven weeks. He was at AAA at the time of the injury. Both players are on my 40-man roster. But since they are not part of the active roster -- how can they negatively affect the team? Is it because they might be in the locker room or dugout and causing issues that way? |

Players on the 60-day IL count as major leaguers, for both service time purposes and chemistry/morale purposes.

But I told them both to rehab at home, so as not to infect the clubhouse with their attitudes.
You mean they didn't listen? |

the current rate of change would be the measuring stick...
if it is trending down, then you have to worry about changing something. as long as team chemistry is increasing or maintaining a positive chemistry, you know that the negative personalities that exist on your team are effectively mitigated. a cumulative of all that jazz, good and bad... drops in a bucket over time... if team chemistry is improving, you know the incremental drop in the bucket is fine. |
