It's April 7,1936 & the New York Yankees are playing against the Brooklyn Dodgers at beautiful Ebbets Field in Brooklyn New York in an exhibition game.
That kid from California is up to bat. Joe DiMaggio ,the rookie we have all heard about .He's trying to make the powerful Yankees starting lineup.
Van Lingle Mungo is pitching for Brooklyn & he is a fierce competitor.
Spring training or not he doesn't want some rookie, especially from the Yankees to get the best of him.
