Players age?

I am new at this PT stuff. Unlike in a tournament or season I'd run myself, do the players age and progress through their careers like in history? Or am I stuck with a 22 yr old Babe Ruth for the rest of time?

Nope, no player aging and no progression except for training if applicable. So, yes, you are stuck with the ratings of that Babe Ruth card for the rest of time (unless you decide to upgrade.)

hmm..ok thanks. Then I am confused as why it's called "Build a Legend" when it's really not. Just the same player stuck in a time loop. lol

As you progress through the BaL missions for a player, you get a stronger and stronger version of them. You also earn other rewards along the way. As example, Ron Guidry was the BaL for the Yankees. He started with a Bronze 1984 card (68 Overall rating). You got a standard pack for locking that card and another pack for completing his Bronze mission. This unlocked Guidry’s Silver BaL card, a Silver (78 OVR) 1982 card. Locking that card got you two standard packs as did completing his Silver mission which then unlocked his Gold (82 OVR) 1981 card. Locking that card and then completing his Gold mission each earned you a gold pack as rewards and unlocked the Diamond (96 OVR) 1977 Guidry. As a final round, locking that card and completing his Diamond mission each earned a Silver and a Gold Pack and then unlocked the Perfect (100 OVR) 1978 Guidry. That BaL topper along with the Posada reward from the Yankees’ Live mission and the Chapman from their Team Mission #1 unlocked the Don Mattingly Franchise Heroes #1 card. The progression has continued through to the Franchise Heroes #2 missions and will go forward towards Franchise Heroes #3.

It’s a lot to deal with but I personally have had fun with the progression through the season.
