Teams way overpaying for FA's after season starts

I fast play all of my seasons as basically GM and I'm currently in 2063. I've noticed recently an issue with FA's that have been unable to secure deals before the next season starts. They are being signed to 1 year deals at prices WAY above their asking price. The most recent one is a 5 star SP who is a FA for the first time after his arbitration years expired. He made $5.25 mil his last 2 arbitration years and his asking price had dropped from $37 mil to $26 mil right as the season started. To make matters worse, he tore his UCL last season and is out until July. He just signed in early May for a 1 year, $104 mil deal!!!!

I've notice this happen to 2-3 FA's each season recently. May want to look into this.
