TW/CW: Can we PLEASE remove the references to DA in the injuries file?

When OOTP became licensed by MLB a few years ago, they removed references to steroids and drug suspensions in-game. Along the same vein, OOTP I'm begging you please remove your references to domestic abuse in your game. I think it's in poor taste to have injuries like these pop up in-game (Content Warning):

Please consider removing these in future iterations. Until then, is there anything I can do to manually remove them from my game?

Maybe change these to "... injured his... while having too much fun during a night on the town with the fellas..." or "... in a spirited game of corn-hole at a backyard birthday party..."

MLB has proven with its demands on OOTP that steroids don't exist. So it needs to put Bonds in the Hall of Fame.

You do realize the Hall is independent of MLB

You do have the ability to remove these fields yourself by customizing the Injury file.

However, I would also be pro-removing these from the default file.

I'm kind of 50/50 on whether these sort of stories should be there, but I lean to being ok with it in fictional leagues, for the purposes of realism, as long as it's relatively rare and there's an option to turn them off.

It does add a layer to fictional players and you can even choose to part ways with a player strictly based on one such occurrence. Though for me neither example in the OP would merit that reaction.

For what it's worth, I think these (and others) will be on their way out soon. Until that time, I'd encourage you to keep bugging the developers. Other objectionable off-field injuries and storylines have been dropped in the past (remember the dead kid story?) precisely because gamers complained.

Go into the game's database folder. Open the off_field_injuries_english.txt file and delete the objectionable entries. Make a copy of your modified file and keep it somewhere else - when the game updates, it will overwrite the injuries file and you'll have to reinstall your modified version.

I think the only real life incident like this I can think of is Chuck Finley having trouble with his then-wife, the late actress Tawny Kitean. But yeah, there can be other ways to get a guy out of the lineup for a couple of days in a strange way without bringing up a sensitive issue. Good call.
