Enable Historical Editing

When starting a Historical League, I am trying to understand exactly what this does when it is check it.

Is there Free Agency for a Historical set-up. I have done a few tests as an unemployed GM and I did not see any FA signings after July 1 (more specifically for the bigger names).

Are the player just resigned by teams based on what happened in real free agency. There just does not seem to be much player movement.

Historical Editing means that you can change History. You can stop the WHA from coming in, stop teams from moving, stop expansion from happening, etc.

As for Free Agency, when are you playing? Typically "Free Agency" wasn't really a thing until...what? The 1990s? Very much like the NFL in that. Teams held your rights for almost forever unless they released you.

You confirmed the Historical Editing - it's what I thought.

With the Free Agency:

I tried starting in the 1990, 2005 and 2010 to see if this made a difference.

Very little player movement. Top UFA seem to be resigned by current teams in-season.

When the Free Agency Preview news is shown (around June 23) , there are very few FA on the list and no one significant.

Been trying and testing, but the same results.

Tested the later years (2103, 2014, etc) and still have no free agency. No one gets signed except to their original team. There is little to no player movement.

I have Free Agency ticked, but anyone good just resigns with their current team. Could I have something ticked where players just go to the historical teams based on the year.
