Re-imported name database, still getting names that aren't on it
Hi all, I don't think this is a bug so I'm keeping to general discussions.
I edited the Hispanic nameset in my fictional game, re-imported the database, and I've been testing it with a player who hasn't had any service time yet. Now, I added an accent back to "José," and I noticed that that did change—but I also noticed I'm getting names I know I took out of the nameset, like "Ivan," "Jordan" and "Edwin." (I don't even think that last one was in the previous iteration of the database either, as it's 1885 currently and "Edwin" didn't become a thing in PR until the 20th century.) The player's only using the Hispanic nameset, I know that much, so is there a second file the save could be pulling those names from?

Never anyone mind—I found the problem; I ripped out those names, and then, like a dingus, forgot to save the file, so when I went back and copied the set into the OOTP file, they were still there. In fairness, I did try to find them, but my match case was on and so repeated attempts to find "jordan" turned up nothing. False alarm! Can be closed.
