Pleasant surprises

Some dude in my rookie league had 809 stolen bases during the season. Runner up was 195. Hot damn.

Was this in Entry Pool or a 162 game season? Can't imagine a guy getting on enough to do that. From a high level view (not getting down into the weeds), if a player stole second, third, and home every single time they got on, they would have to get on ~270 times, so they'd need to be a good OBP guy. Yeah, they can get on by errors and fielder's choice, but that would be a drop in the bucket compared to the need to be getting on all 270 times with nobody on base in front of them to keep them from stealing not to mention the times they would get thrown out. Can't even imagine how this could happen how seldom a steal of home would occur. If they stole second and third, they would have to get on over 400 times.

Edit - Just noticed it said rookie league, so yeah, even more unlikely. Is 809 a typo?

That would make more sense then, I took "dude" to mean one of the players.
