Stat output help
How do I get the stats output to be similar at all levels?
I've been playing around with it and always my minors and feeders come in with significantly higher ERAs. I've checked all the appropriate boxes. I filled the team with fictional players so all teams have the appropriate amount of pitchers. I set all levels with the same league totals and i auto calc to modifiers. Could it be the sabremetric creation modifiers? I doubt it but the modifiers are tiered down. My MLB gets 4 ERAs My Minors gets 6 ERAs My feeders get 8-9 ERAs Last edited by Ramzavail; 04-11-2021 at 02:07 AM. |

I've never seen this when using auto-calc.
I autocalc all of my leagues every year. I don't have feeders any longer with the new created draft pools being so detailed. But when I did have feeders I did autocalc them too. So I have many seasons to go by and, as mentioned above, no issues with stat ouptut. Just to be clear you are auto-calc-ing each league one at a time? I expect your answer is going to be "duh, of course I am" but.... it's the only thing I can think of as to why you're not getting expected output. |

In all my fictional universes, I like to start with 20-30 years of history first. So, I was simming 20 years and didn't auto-calc after each year. However, the ERAs were out of whack in y1.
I've been doing this for years and years in OOTP and I've encountered issues before, but I've always been able to solve for them but perhaps, I am just doing something either wrong or out of sequence or clicking the wrong box. |

make the "league totals" the same per level and autocalculate modifiers on opening day of that leage. Or, any time after the AI sets the teams up, if before that point.
Defense tuning may require a bit more investigation. If autocalc is setting it to a different Fld%, then you'd have to adjust that after any autocalculation. tht would require a bit of observation to know what produces your ML's fld% at lower levels. may need to look at errors per position for that distribution... it's a rabbit hole that may not be worth going down. The MiL should be different statistical environments for numerous reasons. Some of which are differering physical environment. The parks in the FSL are ginormous, as one example. If you do rely on autocalculate but want different ltm elsewhere, make sure to write it down and copy it over after any autocalculation. Whatever your intention, knock it out the way you want to. How it works in real life may be irrelevant, i understand. you don't have to autocalculate every year. If you find a middle ground (observe high/low marks over time per modifier), you can stop doing it altogether. When you see something dip too low or jump too high, adjust 1 at a time relating to that oddball stat for the final adjustments. As long as you don't change creation modifiers, size of league or anything else that might impact results, it'll stay within a min/max level consistently and dictated solely by natural change of player ratings rather than a button. Volatility of talent is greater in the minors than your major league. The MiL are smaller leagues. smaller sample = greater volatility, too. So, expect more ebb and flow in any 1 year compared to a 30 team MLB, but if you autocalculate with the same totals on opening day of that league, it's going to be very close to those results. MiL rules (service time and age) could impact this by causing unusual feast or famine situations at any particular rung of the ladder. Make sure no level struggles to fill out teams and enough of similar ability, if you have set up any rules forthe MiL levels. Running your sim 20 years definitely cleared out the seed players from the minors. That is another concern, otherwise. The dsitribution of talent just isn't quite the same. sabermetric modifiers impact the 'fill league' function.. or the 'seed' players' in minor leagues at the start of a newly created game. So, you don't need to fiddle with those for this particular need. |
