Stats question for beyond 2021

I have started an unconventional 2021 league -- I retracted 6 teams and set the stats and strategies to 1985 levels. This worked out well -- had to tweak the strikeout and home run modifiers a bit, but otherwise it's been great.

My question is: I want to maintain these levels beyond 2021. When the 2021 season is over, do I need to adjust these totals / modifiers or will they be reset according to the 2021 season totals or is there some other scenario? I'm unclear on how it's supposed to work.

If you've got it set to advance automatically then it will continue to roll forward year by year, IE next season will use 1986 stats and strats.

If you uncheck that box the stats should remain at current settings.

That is how I understand it.
