This makes me grumpy

Take a look at Larry French in these two pictures. In the 2D Modern picture, you will see that Larry French threw 4328.1 innings, allowing 4627 hits. Clear as day. Then look at Larry French in the 2D Classic picture. Then look at strikeouts and walks. If the columns can be properly spaced in Modern 2D, there's no reason they can't be properly spaced for Classic 2D. It's not a space issue. [ATTACH]Name: elegance_of_it_1947-04-21_16-34-38.jpg

I assume Classic is a legacy thing that's not getting any more work.

Ugh! If that's the case, it really sucks. 2D classic would be almost perfect if this little column deal was corrected. Heck, I'm guessing they probably have an unpaid intern that could fix this issue in less than 30 minutes.

I guess they would have to make the whole widget larger. That's one of the advantages of classic, you can cram more widgets on the screen for more information. Looks like they are cramming to much information in that space.

Exactly. This has been a problem forever. It's not like there isn't room for them to make that widget wider and properly space the columns. If they can do it for the flashy modern 2D, they can do it for Classic. I just can't deal with that awful play by play box at the top of the screen when it comes to modern. Plus, it simply looks 1000 times better to have the entire stadium view that you get with classic.

I agree that I would like classic more if the widgets were wider and the text a little bigger. My old eyes have to squint to read the text in classic.

Yep, Classic view is so much better laid out than modern. I hate widgets being placed on top of the field

22 versions and we still have info boxes like those shown in the screenshots. I'm holding off on doing my Steam review this year, because this really has me ticked off. Every single time I open the game I have a thing begging me to do that review. Right now, they don't want me doing that review. Wasn't really pissed about this until I realized Modern 2D has the information displayed in a readable well spaced fashion.

2D has been neglected for years now, unfortunately. Not only are the columns in the info boxes frequently messed up, but the default field photo sizes don't match up well to common resolutions. This often leaves a ton of unused grey space on the screen (as seen above). It's just ugly.

Ah but all that unused grey space means they have plenty of room to stretch out the player info boxes to allow for proper spacing of the columns. I think 2D Classic is much more appealing than the 2D Modern.

I agree that it's more appealing and it's my preferred way to play, but the layout issues drive me bonkers.

They've fixed some of the other Classic 2D issues that we've had. This one has been around forever and is really annoying. I hope they can get it fixed.

I agree with you there, as I'm always trying to come up with better screen setups to limit the as much of he grey as possible.

I agree. I couldn't even play 17 or 18 due to how choppy the on screen presentation was. They fixed that around July or August of OOTP19. It's worked great ever since.

If this info box problem could be fixed I would be down to only one other visual complaint, the earthquake shakes. That change from day game to night still drives me crazy, but once I get all the labels set for all the parks, I'm fine. So the shakes are annoying but easy to deal with. The numbers all running together on the info boxes can't be dealt with, you just have to live with it.
