League Creation - Beginning on a particular day

Hi all,

The answer to this question may be right in front of me but I can't seem to find the answer. When starting either a standard or historical league I would like to "take over" a team at the beginning of the off-season of the prior year rather than the pre-season start in February. For example, if I want to create a standard league and take over as manager and GM of the Royals for the 2021 season, it would be great to be "hired" in November 2020 so that I have the chance to pursue potential free agents and so forth. Is there a way to do this? I know I can start a 2020 season unemployed and sim through it but was hoping for an approach to just set it when creating the league.
