ratins recalc for players missing season

How do rating recalc work for players how missed years to military service or injuries.
ie
ted williams
bob feller
etc

The game may hold to the last recalc rating for players, but that last recalc rating may have fallen below the sample size for your import adjust setting. You may want to try using 5yr recalc to get around this problem. That is what I do and I use import settings of 167/67 for batters and 17/14 for pitchers.
