Ridiculous Way to End a Game

Just won a game on a 8-5 double play. Opposing batter lined out to my centerfielder who then threw to third to double off the runner who was there. I mean, I guess the guy at third could have torn an achilles or had a heart attack or something, but...

Not to mention that recently my team hit into a 9-6-3 triple play. Runners on first and second, lineout to right, throws to second and first to get the runners. I can't imagine a scenario where that could ever really happen.

9-6-3 triple play turned by Cleveland against Detroit, August 15th, 1950:

So, that's one way it could happen. And did happen.

1. Shallow pop fly to CF where the outfielder races in.....he has a great arm...the runner on third doesn't want to see him short hop it and throw him out at the plate...so he cheats half way down the line. OF catches the ball on the run and throws a lazer to 3rd base. OUT

2. The runners are off with the pitch. Solid smash directly at the OF who catches it on the fly....his momentum carrying him forward fires the ball back in to the INF. The runners are too far off base to get back in time.
