Game Crashing (Out of memory)

Hi there,

I have a 32 league association, and each league has 28 teams (no minors). This was an imported save from OOTP 19 -> 20 -> 21, but I cleared out all the history, deleted all the players, and basically started over 5 years into the league in OOTP 21. I'm not in control of any team and am just playing in Commissioner mode. I was able to sim through the first regular season in a little over half an hour. The playoffs took a bit longer, and so did the association playoffs after that, but it wasn't anything obscene. The offseason simmed pretty quickly as well.

The second regular season took about an hour just to get through the first 25 days or so. I've deleted all box scores, made sure that I'm not saving those or the WPA graphs anymore, purged the database, etc, but I'm not even able to load the Rookie Draft screen from one of the leagues without the game crashing. Is there something I've overlooked? I noticed the players.dat file went from 70MB to ~110MB in just one season, but nothing else inflated too much. I've attached the trace file as well as my global settings. Thanks!

This is on the Steam version on Windows 10, btw.

Depending on how much you have in the way of deleted teams/players it might help to run the purge tool on the db.

Just make sure to back it up first, as it's always possible to have some issues after running the purge tool.

Beyond that, we'd probably actually need to see the file itself to know if anything more can be done.

Thanks Lukas - I forgot to mention that I experienced the crash, ran the purge tool, and then experienced the crash again. I'll send an email to the support team.

One thing to try is to delete all Jim Unknown players from free agency. I don't remember the exact steps to find them, but we did it and had to delete about 250,000 of them. it helped crashing problems for a bit.
