I started a historical sim and was getting angry. I kept changing Babe Ruth's position to RF and it kept changing back.

It wasn't until I changed his position experience at RF to 200 that he was placed into the lineup.

More information would help. There was a time when Babe was a pitcher, hence he wouldn’t play the OF. The game is aware of this, and acts accordingly.
