Historical Editing?

My first Historical season was from 1965-66.

The only thing I changed was I added Baltimore Clippers and San Diego Gulls.

Later I started 1972-73 Historical (different game).

However it didn't give me the option to edit (add teams,etc.).

What did I do correctly the first time(1965-66) that I didn't do the second time (1972-73)?

You probably need to turn historical editing on in Manager Options.

I went back and checked and I am in commish mode in the 1972-73 and I checked again and the editing feature is now available.

The only thing I changed in the Manager options was I checked-Do Not Disturb. Then I checked and the editing is now available.

I tried starting the game all over from the start with a new game and the game started on a different start date(Aug. 21st) when the first time I started playing Historical (1972-73) it started on July 1st.

I don't know what I did but after trying all over again and it started on a different date then I went back(the first time I tried 1972-73 historical) and the only thing I did differently was check -do not disturb - because commish mode box was already checked off.

Question for Jeff R-
I am in the process of moving New England Whalers (WHA) and New York Raiders (WHA) to the NHL (moving players manually one at a time with player editor).

The teams that moved from the WHA will be replaced with New England Oceaneers and New York Americans so will they sign enough free agents over the next three months (July 1st to Sept. 1st, 1972) to field a team for the regular season?

Update: I moved up a few months from July 1st and both Oceaneers and Americans weren't adding players so I went through every WHA and NHL team and gave them a player or two.

Also added Los Angeles Toros and Michigan Stags as WHA expansion teams and I made them a little too good (added players also from the WHA and NHL)because both won 6 out of 7 pre-season games.
