Photos Not Importing

Where do your photos of historical players have to be to get that to import as new seasons start? I have mine in a directory structure under

D:\Program Files (x86)\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\data\photos

but they never import. I have to add the images to the players manually. Do all images have to be in a single folder for the game to find them?

Ah, so you're putting them in the documents folder instead of the game folder. I'll give that a try.

Is there a way to force the game to reload all images, so that I can see if this works?

After you place the photos in the correct folder, try going to the main overall Settings box for OOTP21 then go to "3D/Face Gen" tab and find the box labeled "Picture Search Mode", select "Search for Photo First". then close out and restart

I did that, but I guess I'll have to wait for the new season, eh, before I see if it worked? I guess it won't retroactively look for missed photos, either.

So I've come to the start of another new season in my historical league and, again, none of my historical player photos imported for the new players.

I currently my photos in a directory structure as shown in the image, one folder for each year.

What does a person have to do to get the photos to import automatically each year?

Mine start in

E:\Users\Brad\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\photos

From there OOTP copies them into the saved game.

Just did it. It's always a process for me as well.

This is what I did

Delete all the photos from
C:\Users\?????\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\saved_games\?????.lg\news\html\images\person_pi ctures

And put in the new photos

Open the game
In File>Settings enable Facegen (NOTE: Not 3D Features/Open GL Support)
Exit game (to get settings to update)

Open the game
In Game Settings>Players and FaceGen: Team Picture Functions - Check all Picture Files of All Teams and Leagues
In File>Settings disable FaceGen
Exit game

Seems to have worked for me

When you say 'put in the new photos' do you mean manually copy them into the saved game directory?

If there are no photos in the saved game the program will look for photos in the main photos folder. So delete any photos out of the saved game folder.

Put new photos in the main photo folder, in my game its

E:\Users\Brad\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\photos

and your existing save or a new game will pull the photos it needs from there. But only if it doesn't have any. It won't over ride any photos it already has.

This didn't do anything for me other than delete all my existing game photos. When I get to clicking Check all Picture Files... it just processes for a second and then goes back to the screen.

When all is said and done the only thing it creates in my saved game person_pictures folder is a file called default_player_photo.png. No player photos. When you say 'put in the new photos' where are you putting them?

That seems to have done the trick. So what I have to do is make sure I throw the players for the upcoming year in there before the new season starts and I should be good. Thanks for the tip.

That's interesting. I just joined an on line league and the photos automatically loaded into my team.
