Ways to decrease complexity?
The number of options in OOTP 21 is impressive, but also pretty overwhelming. Are there any aids out there with info on how to turn off elements like weather, injuries, trades, year-over-year drafts, money management, haggling with agents, etc.? Even if I play in "manage only" mode, all of those things still happen; they're just controlled by the AI. Is it possible to turn them off entirely?
I'd like to get closer to a board game style of play, with set rosters and a less-changeable play environment (more of a baseball strategy simulator). Is this a play style OOTP 21 can accommodate? Thanks! |

Aside from allowing AI control of those features, I don't know
You could just play exhibition games. I don't think it saves any stats or records - so,if you wanted them you have to save them in excel or something. And it would just be the teams involved in the game (no other games happening). |

You can turn off injuries, trades, the rookie draft, finances, scouting, coaching, and many other options in OOTP. You can customize the game to be almost anything you want it to be, although I don't think you can turn off weather. Just keep in mind that there are consequences to doing these things.
For example, if you turn off injuries, then your overall statistical results may be skewed by the fact that players are never injured. If you turn off the first-year player draft, first-year players will go into the free agent pool, and it will be a free-for-all to sign them. In a historical game, the AI GMs do a terrible job with this, and the human GM can horde many of the top new rookies. But in a game where fictional new players are being created, with most needing years of development in the minors, I'm not sure what results you'll see. You can't control the weather per se, but you can disable rainouts in league setup. Under the Options Tab, top right.

You might want to try Baseball Mogul, it's a much simpler more streamlined game. If you ask they will give you a free demo that let's you play a full year as many times as you want.

Perhaps the historical exhibition mode would give you what you want. It has no past and no future which is what you have with a board game.

If you just want to play individual games, then the exhibition is the way to go. You can match up any two teams and play
If you want to play seasons, then there are the other suggestions in this thread |

It's a lot of work but if you edit the weather for every stadium in the stadium editor you could theoretically have the se weather for every game
