Automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy

I was hoping to get some clarification on this option that is on the League Total Modifiers section. It is on by default in my game, which is just a 2020 MLB franchise. In past versions I generally clicked the auto calc button every couple of years to keep the stats in line. Does keeping this box clicked mean I don't have to worry about auto calc? I don't recall having this selected by default in OOTP20. The little bit I found online about it mostly dealt with historical games. So I am not even sure it should be on by default in a normal 2020 game.

Having it on will auto recalc the modifiers every Opening Day.

Thanks. So basically, if I keep this selected, I no longer have to click the auto-calc button myself?

You probably don't have any plans to do anything further with league totals, but I strongly recommend that you read this section of the OOTP 21 manual on league total modifiers. Checking that box and letting the game handle things is definitely the way to go. Never edit league totals or recalculate them. If you ever decide you want to change anything, only adjust the modifiers. The manual explains why this is so important and how it works.

Thanks for the link. I don't think I can adjust the modifiers even if I wanted to. I have played in Challenge Mode the last several versions of OOTP. I will just be sure to keep the box checked.
