Boost in pack pulls of Historical Gold and Diamond Card needed
The lack of any Historical Diamond and Gold Cards (especially Diamond) on the Auction House has gotten really bad as of late and I am seeing multiple people on the boards becoming frustrated over the extreme lack of card content available for auction. I enjoy using the offseason time in Perfect Team to pick and choose which collection missions I might try to finish before the next OOTP series comes out in the spring. However, that is really a mute point right now when hardly any historical mission cards are available. I realize pack pulls are a luck of the draw, but I used to snag a at least 1-3 historical diamond or gold cards out of every 50 standard card packs, but in the past month or so it is only Live cards that come in Gold or Diamond. Yeah, I am only one person, but I have seen others post about how bad the card pulls have gotten. Maybe the odds have gotten worse because less people are out there pulling the slot machines that are essentially what the card packs are when opened, but something needs to change. The powerhouse teams that compete for the Perfect League title are mostly made up of teams that have completed all the missions and few if any others out there will be a threat to their winning ways within Diamond, much less Perfect league seasons. The rest of us just want to have a little more fun completing a few missions of our choosing and seeing the auction block become a bit more vibrant with a moderate boost to the chances of seeing a few more historical Diamond and Gold cards out there.

What are you looking for? I've found pretty much everything for various FotF missions I did over the past month but it takes a commitment. You aren't going to find each card you want by checking once a day. Time is a resource and there are not enough people playing the game for that kind of liquidity in the market.
Obviously anything that is part of a brand new collection like the 80s Cy Winners will have a short-term run on them with lots of people refreshing to snag their missing pieces. The long term drop rate of cards has been proven time and time again to be perfectly fair and that you pretty much make your cost back from standard packs. Golds are a bit worse but do save you time. The only thing bad this year are the obvious Royals/Padres bottlenecks because they require a high percentage of the diamonds that exist. It's nowhere near as bad as PT20 though with many individual card bottlenecks. You can pretty much go on the AH anytime and pay your 100K-120K per card to finish those at least. |

How about an addition to the AH that I've seen mentioned before? A wish list. Instead of bidding on a card, you could post a request and offer a price. The seller could search the wish list and choose the best price (if they like it) for an instant sale. Heaven

That would make it even harder to get bottlenecks at lower prices.
The problem is creating bottlenecks in the first place. |

what's most important - some lucky folk being able to get cheap deals, or people who are prepared to pay being able to find the cards they want?
Obviously, people will have different angles on that. Personally, at this point I'm happy to pay whatever the going rate is. If there aren't enough cards, at least get them to the players who want them the most. |

No question it will help out the people willing to pay whatever it takes for a card, but the "going rate" will be much higher since that system gives so much power to the sellers
I think it is overall a good thing that there is an advantage to be gained by playing more |

We're in the waning months of the game's life at this point. Between fewer active players and the fact that everything above Silver level is Diamond or better, there simply isn't the number of choices (for reasonable money) there were 3 months ago.
If you thought opening packs chances were bad before, there's far less chance now to land a card you can use. Fact of life - waiting for OOTP 22. |

I understand all points made. I'm certainly not looking for a overwhelming boost in historical gold and diamond cards, just some tweaking to the system. As we wait for OOTP 22 and whatever new updates that the dev team have in mind to make PT even better, it would just be nice to see a moderate boost in these cards in the meantime as fewer players are out there pulling packs and using the auction house. I still very much enjoy the PT experience and am Glad they still are pushing out missions to keep a lot of the year round players engaged, but since we are now in the second full "offseason" of sorts for PT (I don't count OOTP19) and seeing some of the same trends as last year, it would nice to see some more minor tweaks done until OOTP 22.

A very simple improvement that would help things out would be to let newly released cards qualify as part of the appropriate FotF collection.
Looking at the Royals, if cards like 90 Appier and 92 Lacy counted for the diamond collection that would lower the average price per card needed. They already do this with new live cards for the live missions so the ability is there. Wouldn't be fair to do it this late but next year if the collection structure is largely similar I don't see why this shouldn't be the case. |

As a Mission guy, it is very frustrating to complete a mission worth 3 diamond packs, and all of them turn out to be live. I understand the odds, but wish we could turn in "x" amount of live diamonds for a random historic diamond instead of points. Maybe 8 live for one random historic, in lieu of the 32,000 points those currently quicksell for? That way it's somewhat expensive...but guaranteed to be a historic.

Historical diamond packs would be so expensive that you are back where you started-- not worth it. Perhaps, historical diamond packs might be a sound mission reward, but then that just drives up the prices of the mission cards! No free lunch to be had, except for the live missions.

Yeah, I would expect that would cost a good 30K per pack at least.
But hey, at least when I opened my diamond packs that I got from a mission I received historical diamond in both my packs. One is already on the market today but as for the other, well I'll let the meme explain it...
