Jimmie Hall CF speed = 18?
I always cringe when i see CF and SS with speed ratings abnormally low.
Jimmie Hall CF Twins 1963 RANGE CF: 87 Speed 18 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmie_Hall Showcasing both his power and speed, Hall not only hit 20 home runs in 1965 but also beat out 20 infield singles. |

I always cringe when I see people complain about something without bothering to learn what they are talking about.
Speed in OOTP is literally just the rate at which a player attempts to steal a base. |

such protected anger.... lighten up dude Running Speed Running Speed is a measure of how quickly a player can run from one base to the next. Players with a high rating in Running Speed are more of a threat to steal bases, and are more likely to advance further on a ball in play. Running Speed is strictly for offensive play. For example, Running Speed does not factor into an outfielder's range. However, Running Speed and Defensive Range are linked internally. For example, as a player ages, his speed and range will generally decline at the same pace. |

Speed would seem to be inherihent well, speed. How fast can you run. You can be slow but still possibly be a good base stealer, but less likely You can be fast, which would would give you the potential to be a better basestealer, turning singles to extra base hits, challenging throws. But ok, now i know it is the RATE at how often you attempt to steal a base. Glad I can come to the message boards to get the real story in friendly manner <<Players with a high rating in Running Speed are more of a threat to steal bases, and are more likely to advance further on a ball in play.>> i guess willie mays and jimmie hall were just happy to not advance further on a ball in play......
