Where does all the money come from?

Hello, I started a new fictional league in Croatia (did you know that OOTP 21 has fictional Croatian names and real Croatian Cities?!) and started the league with a draft.

For a few years I was really bad, then I reached the playoffs two times in a row but lost in round 1. After that everything fell apart and I ended the season like 10-50 and kept on loosing.

When it was time to renew contracts, my best players wanted money I didn't have, I was broke.

Other teams have contracts that pay like half a million for a year and I can't afford 15.000!

Any hints what I am doing wrong (I bet a lot) but starting a new league, with just 16 teams and everybody starting from scratch, I thought it would be easier.

Money comes from things like ticket sales, media contracts, and merchandise sales

Thank you. I should have specified. I was more wondering, with every team in the league starting with the draft, how come some teams can afford player contracts that high.

My ticket sales were around 2 or 3 $ and the other teams had the same.
The TV deals were similar.

My market size is "tiny" but some other teams are very high. Is this just luck how the teams performed in the first year or is the market size randomly assigned at the beginning?

I guess those are too many and too specific questions...

No, the questions aren't too specific

The information that you've provided isn't specific enough

You have the information you need to answer your question.

If you know how much your team is earning, and how much the other teams are earning, and you know how teams are spending their money, then the answer, to your original question, should be obvious.

How does your team revenue, budget, and expenses compare to the rest of the league?

Trucks.
You're always going to want plenty of trucks to produce money.
If you don't have trucks, you can keep stuff, but how are you going to transport all the stuff your team needs?
