Help - Game Crashed, Continue Game Greyed Out

Hey everyone,

Could really use your help. I believe as I was saving/had just finished saving my game, my computer froze up.

When I restarted, my "Continue Game" option is greyed out.

Not sure what to do to recover the game. I've gone through the OOTP folder and it is showing the files as being saved. But I don't know what to do from here. Not the most computer literate person in the world.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just try going to 'load game' and you should see the save and be able to load it from there.

It's not there. Only one that's there is an old save I haven't touched in months.

So check in the .lg folder named for your league games folder and see if there are any files that end in .dat there. There should be 17. But if the save was corrupted, they might not be there. In which case there should be an autosave or and incident folder there. Copy over the .dat files from there as described below and try loading in game again.

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings (or Preferences in OOTP 11-14).

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

8) Now start the game and load your league.

Perfect. Worked and I'm back up and running. Lost the game I had just finished and was trying to save - and it was a big one - but that's life. Luckily had only lost that game and saved right before it.

Thanks so much for the speedy help! Greatly appreciated.
