Can-Am League 1900-2020 an in-depth look into my history

The Can-Am league started with 16 teams, 8 out of the United States and
8 out of Canada. 2 Leagues and 2 divisions, 4 teams in each division. This
continued until 1920. 4 teams came into play, 1 team n each division in each
league. The league remained 20 teams until 1960 when again the league
expanded but this time by 2 American teams, 1 in each division. In 1970,
expansion was 4 teams, 2 again in each league and 1 in each division. in 1978,
the league was balanced once again with the introduction of 2 Canadian teams.

The league started in 1900 with a 124 game season. In 1912, the schedule was
to play 162 games. The playoffs were always an expanded amount of teams so each
season, half of the teams in baseball made the playoffs which made for
some interesting playoff results. Due to this, very often teams made the playoffs
that may not have deserved it but a few times, shocked the baseball world
by winning it all.

I am going to try to post all about the league, teams, players and coaches and
give some kind of write up of about everything I can that happened in the
120 years of the Can-Am league.

I hope people enjoy this and if anyone wants to see anything different or
expanded, please drop a message here.

Thank you to anyone who enjoys and follows along my historical look at a long
standing league.

1900, just to start

In 1900, the Can-Am Baseball League was formed, starting with 16 teams. 8 teams were Canadian and 8 teams were American.
The teams that started in 1900 were...

American League Eastern Division
Jacksonville Sharks
Charlotte Cyclones
Milwaukee Hops
Baltimore Black Birds

American League Western Division
Dallas Bulls
Los Angeles Leopards
San Antonio Stallions
San Francisco Prospectors

Canadian League Eastern Division
Markham Misfits
Gatineau Tigers
Mississauga Anglers
Ottawa Capitals

Canadian League Western Division
Vancouver Wolf Pack
Regina Artillery
Hamilton Stingers
Edmonton Diamonds

These are the teams that made up the 1900 season of the Can-Am league. To start off with, I will be doing a history of each
of the teams as in depth as I can be. I also understand that geographically, these teams were not placed in the perfect
spot and I also know that in 1900, not all of these cities existed. My next post will be about the teams...
