Can I use recalc in a fictional league?

I'm trying to set up a league that has a custom structure (one 12-team division) and uses selected historical players with progressive ratings based off real stats.

I got the league all set up in the fictional wizard, but can't see a way to set recalc preferences. Is that only in historical, where it seems I can't set a custom structure as described above?

To sum up, is it possible to both have a custom league structure and use historical players with recalc on? If so, how?

Thanks for any help!

Mike

Are your rosters filled? And, have you imported a season which you intend to you use for league totals and modifiers?

You cannot set recalc in a fictional league, so the starting point for anything like this would be to first make a historical league and then gut it to meet your vision.

Since historical players will be "selected", you'll want to uncheck "use real historical players" and ensure fictional players being allowed is toggled on (should be the default). Recalc should be available with this method and there is nothing stopping you from setting up the league structure however you want.

Use the historical wizard to create a random debut league. As long as you turn off historical expansion, you can restructure your league to whatever format you wish. For example, if you create a random debut league starting in 1964 you could simply move two NL teams to the AL, delete 8 teams and detete the NL entirely. This would give you the 12 team league you desire. Since you turned off historical expansion, you can relocate the teams to wherever you want and give them whatever nicknames you desire.

Random debut leagues use recalc just like historical leagues. The cool thing is they start with zero stats/history, so turning them fictional is no problem.
