Waiver claims awarded
I'm in my first year with the 1930 Brooklyn Robins. I waived a player who was claimed by an American League team (PHA), a National League team (CIN) and a National League team with a better record (NYG). After the three days, he was awarded to the Giants. What would be the reasoning for that? I was under the impression that the team with the worst record in the same league as the waiving team would have top priority, so I would have expected the Reds to get the player. Any thoughts?

The National League team would have preference over the American League team because you're in the same league, even if the American League team has the worse record.

Right, a National League team did get the player. But, Why did the National League team with the better record get the player is my question?

Woops, I only read part of the question - my bad! What was the date? For the first 30 days, the previous year's record is used.

Good thinking, but it’s early July, right past the All-Star Break.

Can you provide screenshots of your league? Standings when the player was originally claimed?

You can see the three teams that put a claim on this guy and you can see that the Reds are almost 15 games behind the Giants. I saw in another thread that sometimes a team can claim a guy, but if they can't afford him, they don't get him. I don't think that's what happening here because this guy is making the minimum salary and it looks like the Reds have the room for that, but the financial pages are a bit confusing.

Yeah, sorry it still looks like there's some issues with the waiver order not taking a later claim when it should. Apologies for that.
