Just wondering if I missed something here.

I'm mainly an iron tourny player, and have had some decent success. Across three teams, I have averaged about a pack per 3 entries until about a week ago. Then things fell off the table. I can spam tournies all day long, and I seem to be averaging maybe two packs a day now. I don't think that the tournament pitching change the devs put in would have affected me greatly (as I never used that exploit), but I am at a loss to explain this. I mean, it's not even like I'm getting to the 3rd/4th place stage much anymore either. Has something been tweaked in tournaments lately? What am I missing? I know that there's variance, and yada-yada-yada, but for all three teams to go from half-decent pack earners to nothing overnight is nutty.

I had a similar issue over a 3 day period. Turned out I'd done something (after a few weekend drinks) that meant I had 5 catchers and only 2 outfielders on my bronze tourney squad. Might be worth checking the team you're trying to put out is correct.

The release of FOTF has also meant people are buying up a lot of the decent iron/bronze tourney players. They're definitely getting more competitive.

Check to see if your rosters are changing and/or your globals strategies have changed. I have noticed that for some stupid reason, when I play on a different Wifi network(work) or the game "glitches" out, everything single thing changes. Very frustrating if you ask me. I have to go to my saved rosters to get it correct again.

I've also noticed a sharp drop in my tournament success in gold and I think the only thing I could really think of it's a result of the FOTF missions.

Did the Live cards change for the first time this Monday?

That could be making some cards worse, and some not eligible for Iron - ie if they got better and are now a 60 or above.

No, they haven't updated yet. Not until at least mid-August.

Yesterday (Tuesday), all 3 of my teams were raking pretty well in tournaments. Got at least 30 packs from them.

Today (Wednesday), with the same exact teams (I checked), I've managed a whole 3 packs (all on 1 team). My team that's a live diamond quicksell away from completing a 2nd FOTF mission has managed to get out of the first or second rounds 3 out of 15 times, then failed in the 3rd all 3 times.

I apologize for asking here but I've been looking elsewhere and can't find it... hoping somebody knows. What happens with tournaments that don't have a full amount of teams when they're due to start? I'm signed up for a 1625 tournament that is due to start in 8 hours but only has 21/128 teams. I'd love it if I only had to compete with 20 other teams but I'm guessing that's not the case...

If it's not full at start time, it'll change to a quick tournament and start as soon as it has filled.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I double-checked to make sure that there weren't roster shenanigans screwing me up, but haven't found any. I'm sure it's just variance, but it sure feels like somebody threw the doom-switch on me. After more than a month of pretty consistent play, having this massive downswing across the board just hurts. Especially when now is the time to be ripping packs!

I experienced the same thing the last two weeks (went from a regular source of cards to rare success). My theory is that so many owners now know and have the best cards for these tourneys that the lineups are essentially identical, which would make the tournament games basically a coin flip, and possibly set up long dry stretches.

I must admit, when I first started playing tournaments, I just used whatever cards I had available that fell reasonably close to the prerequisite of the tourney. But after I began accruing cards ( I am VERY good at drawing LOTS of iron cards, along with the occasional bronze ) I began emulating teams that won the tournaments and had some success myself. This was pretty short-lived, as I think others caught on to the prevailing strategies compiling winning teams, Now it is a coin toss at best, and as bad as my luck runs, it usually comes up 'tails, you lose'.
