Public Beta Patch (Version 21.5.75) Available! (Updated July 28!)

Update July 28: We have created a new build, version 21.5.75, which fixes a few bugs (eg. Rule 5 Draft mode, 2021 draft class problems). Download links have been updated, Steam should update automatically. Give it a go!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 21 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore or Game Pass version!

Hi everybody!

Of course MLB changed the playoff format the day we launched the last patch, but we have been right on top of it and also fixed a few reported issues. So, here's a the public beta of the next maintenance patch, version 21.5.75. We will release this tomorrow if everything goes fine.

We have tested this build for 24 hours and did not find any issues, however use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with previous versions in online leagues.

Changelist (21.5.75):
- Added 16-team MLB playoff format (need to start new game for changes to apply)
- Fixed MiLB and international league 2021 schedule issues when playing the shortened 2020 season
- Fixed some MLB owner goals after playing the shortened 2020 season
- Fixed online league automator not ignoring pending trades
- Enabled shop player page in online leagues with AI trading
- Fixed 2020 draft import not clearing event, multiple smaller shortened 2020 season issues
- Fixed rare case of not calculating pending FA
- Fixed multiple live start issues
- Fixed HOF voting page not allowing you to vote in some cases
- Various other minor bugfixes & improvements

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 21 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 21
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp21pubbeta
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

Crochet was in the draft pool before. Are you sure you aren't in a Live start where the draft already happened and the players are in the orgs that drafted them?

That is probably the case here. I know we made some adjustments today that have not been in this build. I'll ask Lukas to clarify.

Everyone who was drafted is in the db. 99% of the UDFA's too (well, they're all in the db but one or two might not show in-game if if they were rated really low).

So if you don't see a player, then use the search function to search for them, you'll likely see them then.

They may or may not be on the right team though, depending on the game mode you chose and other steps you took. Here's some clarification on how that works.

- Live start: No draft. All players automatically load on the team that drafted/signed them, if they've already signed irl (Only a couple picks haven't signed yet and Crochet is not one of them). If they haven't signed, you can do a search for them and move them to their team in commish mode.

- Short season mode (Not Live): The draft gets scheduled for a couple days after you start. What happens then is up to you. You can have the draft run as normal, in which case the ai will choose guys and they won't necessarily go to the same teams as in real life.

Or, once you go into the draft screen, before you start the draft, you can hit the button to 'load real 2020 results'. That will load all players to the team that picked them irl, and finish the draft. Then just finish the day, and guys will be on their 'right' teams.

- Full 162-game quickstart/new standard game: The draft runs as normal with the AI picking, so guys are not on their 'right' teams. You might be able to use the 'load real 2020 results' in the draft screen on draft day too, though I'm not 100% sure of that.

I have done this, but I am having the game up where won't let me leave the draft, even with the Draft is finished showing on the Continue Draft screen. I applied the patch, so I am wondering if I should just start over?

Are you 100% sure you have this patch applied? What version number does it say on the start screen?

I believe there was an issue with not being able to complete the day after the draft in the last patch, but it should be fine on this one. Even if you are still 'in' the draft, you should be able to just hit the 'finish day' button while there.

To slightly follow up, it matters in which version you actually run the draft in. So if you run the draft in this version it should be fixed, but if you had already run it in the previous one, then you will have to use the workaround to move events around to continue, even if you update.

The current version is 21.5 Build 73. Now I started the association with the previous patch, but had not progressed beyond picking a team. So today was the first day to start advancing days.

I will set up a new association and see what happens.

I just started a new game and it works now. I am wondering if it had to do with starting with old patch and running draft with new patch. Sorry for any confusion.

Is there anyway to start with the 2020 Draft already being completed and having the prospects in the proper system for accuracy sake?

Edit: NVM looks like the live start has exactly what I wanted.

It is very frustrating that the other international leagues get no updates after their seasons start. The cpbl doesn’t even have the wei chuan dragons in league 1 even though they are playing games in the main league and their roster isn’t even accurate. It doesn’t even include half the players on their squad.

I'm not sure where you got the info that Wei Chuan is playing in the main league, but that is not the case. You can see the official CPBL standings here: http://www.cpbl.com.tw/en/standing/s...=2020&season=0

They're only playing in the CPBL2 this year, just like how we have them set up. So the only issue there is with a handful of missing players. I'll work on adding in their missing players myself and they should be in-game pretty soon.

EDIT: As an update, I've added in all the missing Wei Chuan players. They're in the new patch above.

Is it possible for you to update player injuries in the non-live start, 60 game mode? As of now, it starts in July as normal but the injuries are still accurate as of March.

The injuries are kind of a mess given the whole situation with the two different seasons starting at different times.

Since we can't have things perfect, we've decided to leave them as is, which give people accurate March 162 game injuries and semi-accurate 60 game July injuries. If we switched that around, would have accurate July but completely wrong March injuries for folks using the 162 game season.

So no perfect solutions, and we realize some folks might prefer if we did it differently, but we have to make a judgement call here one way or another, as to the better of two imperfect solutions. If anything is just too, too off, you can always use the editor to fix it in game.

My guess is that it would revert 2021 to the "normal" rules.
